Thanks for the great information Jeff. I have been an avid follower and participant in your marathon training guides and advise for 20 years now.

My two musts for a cold weather run are my gloves and either a long or short sleeved shell. I can't believe how much heat a light shell jacket can keep against your body. Here is a good article on cold weather runner gear to compliment your information:

One more thing: if it's too cold, and you have the option, just use the treadmill. Warmer weather is around the corner.
